Senior Developer Advocate 

We’re looking for an experienced software developer and educator to join our Developer Relations team to create, maintain, and teach security-focused workshops to other software developers, devops, and security practitioners.

The Developer Relations team at Snyk helps educate developers, devops, and security practitioners about best practices, tools, and techniques they can leverage to build software more securely. In this role,  you will create, maintain, and teach live workshops to Snyk customers and prospects in order to improve security knowledge and product adoption. These workshops cover a variety of topics, including how to detect and remediate security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers (Docker, etc.), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, etc.).

You’ll spend your time:

  • Continuously learning about developer security and the Snyk Platform
  • Learning to deliver our security-focused developer workshops that teach cybersecurity fundamentals to software developers 
  • Training and certifying other interested Snyk employees to deliver our security-focused workshops
  • Updating our security-focused workshop content and curriculum using Snyk’s own vulnerability database to ensure it’s fresh and relevant
  • Occasionally contributing blog posts and/or videos Snyk’s blog and YouTube channel
  • Occasionally speaking at developer conferences
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to schedule and promote our security-focused developer workshop sessions
  • Creating new and/or extending existing demonstration exploits of known vulnerabilities in the language, container, or IaC platform of your choice
  • Talking to our users, responding to feedback and collaborating with the team to build engaging and entertaining workshops developers will love 
  • Helping engineers better identify, prioritize and remediate the vulnerabilities in their code

You should apply if you:

  • Are a capable coder and are experienced working in at least one of Node.js, JavaScript, Java, .NET and/or Python
  • Have experience working on a SaaS web application
  • Have excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)
  • Are familiar with distributed and data intensive systems
  • Are comfortable working across the stack as part of a cross-functional team
  • Enjoy learning, teaching and sharing with your peers
