Challenges You Will Solve
Red Canary builds deep partnerships with security telemetry providers, creating incredible outcomes for our customers! You’ll work to ensure a clear and effective explanation of how partner solutions benefit our customers both for internal and external consumption. You will help plan, create, and build internal and user assistance reference documentation. Working with senior members across multiple teams, you will contribute to the help center used by all Red Canary teams, partners, and customers.

What You'll Do

    • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to develop comprehensive documentation that meets Red Canary standards.
    • Translate sophisticated product information into simple and engaging content.
    • Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing joint solution functionality.
    • Use Red Canary software unguided, to create new documentation from scratch.
    • Write, format, edit, review, and proofread procedural and technical content for technical and nontechnical users.
    • Participate in the ongoing development of Red Canary technical writing standards and processes.

What You'll Bring

    • Functional mastery of Edited American English, especially in regard to commas, sentence variety, and the passive voice.
    • 2 years or more of Technical Writing experience.
    • Knowledge of Technical Writing principles, practices, and standards.
    • Functional understanding of Help Authoring tools, single sourcing, chunking, and basic HTML.
    • Ability to produce basic, professional quality flow diagrams, process diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams.
    • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision to systematically discover and execute on product documentation needs.
    • Experience preparing documentation with minimal input (written or verbal) from subject matter experts, such as design engineers and product managers, to prepare initial drafts and templates.
    • Proficiency in working as an embedded resource within multi-disciplinary design and development teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of product and documentation requirements, while verifying that content meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
    • Prior experience writing according to style guide standards.
    • Understanding of internal technical reference documentation, including training materials and  process/procedure guides.
    • Comfortable working in a continuous release software development paradigm and adept at pivoting gracefully to meet unexpected product needs.
Targeted base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
