Challenges You Will Solve
As the Manager of Product Documentation, you will manage a team of Technical Writers and Editors and own the creation and maintenance of documentation for the entire Red Canary product portfolio. You’ll be responsible for leading and growing the Documentation team, defining key processes, and partnering with peers across multiple departments to identify priorities. The documentation you maintain will ensure that our customers, partners, and other users are empowered by a seamless and sensible product experience.

What You'll Do

    • Build a deep understanding of products and services to develop comprehensive documentation that meets Red Canary standards.
    • Translate complex product information into simple and engaging documentation.
    • Manage a team that produces user-friendly content supporting Red Canary customers, Sales and Support functions, as well as evaluate current documentation while developing goals for improvement.

What You'll Bring

    • 3+ years in a Product Documentation or technical writing roleExperience managing or leading a documentation team or program.
    • Knowledge of technical writing principles, practices, standards and information architecture.
    • An understanding of desktop publishing tools.
    • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
    • Experience preparing documentation with minimal input (written or verbal) from subject matter experts, such as design engineers and program managers, to prepare initial drafts and templates.
    • Familiarity working with internal teams to acquire an in-depth understanding of product and documentation requirements. Verify documentation meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
    • Prior experience creating and maintaining documentation templates, style and layout guides, and graphics resources.
    • Understanding of internal technical reference documentation, including data libraries, training material, process/procedure guides.
    • Knowledge of techniques for reviewing, editing, and formatting business proposals, product management documents, RFP responses, marketing communications, and other organizational documents as requested.
Targeted base salary range: $140,000- $160,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
