Your mission is to ensure our product and corporate environments are properly architected to ensure we can continue achieving our mission, so our customers can achieve their missions.

As a Director, Security Architecture you will provide strategic guidance, oversight, and leadership to Red Canary. Working closely with our Chief Trust Officer, as well as Product Security, Corporate Security, Engineering and IT leadership, you'll ensure Red Canary’s corporate and production infrastructure are secure and available. You will be the first security team member to jump into new projects and help figure out ways we can achieve great things securely, resiliently, quickly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

    • Work directly with product architects, engineering leadership, product security, corporate security and IT leaders to create target-state architecture and ensure security guidance is integrated throughout the environment, at scale.
    • Develop security baselines that embody core security principles, including zero trust networking
    • Develop specific security baselines for our multiple public cloud environments
    • Define roadmap to migrate from current to target-state architecture
    • Perform research on emerging cyber security trends and threats
    • Build a scalable security architecture function that will grow as the company grows

What You'll Bring

    • 10 years experience in planning, organizing, and developing information security capabilities
    • 5 years of enterprise or security architecture experience including hands-on technology experience
    • 5 years of people leadership experience
    • Strong knowledge of security architectures, including experience working with leading enterprise cyber security tools and vendors
    • Experience deploying networks and applications using AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud security principles
    • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, Zero Trust architecture, the threats facing those environments, and strategies to mitigate them.
    • Solid experience in web application security issues, standards, and best practices (ex. OWASP)
    • In depth knowledge of cloud computing architecture, including multi-cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, with containerized delivery models using Docker and Kubernetes
    • An understanding of the development lifecycle of a SaaS vendor, and a passion for security continuous improvement.
    • Strong foundation in core information security principles and concepts (TLS, authentication, etc.)
    • Excellent communication, and the ability to explain complex security topics in simple terms
Targeted base salary range: $200,000- $250,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
