Staff Software Engineer- Security Automation

The Staff Software Engineer is instrumental in building a frictionless and integrated developer
experience with cutting edge security tools that results in the right security engineering choices
being the most easy ones. The candidate will help to define architecture and overall security
tooling posture and portfolio for Peloton.
Reporting directly to the Director of Security Automation and Tooling, the candidate will drive the
selection, development, and integration of security tooling and services at Peloton informing
Peloton risk owners to enable remediation at scale.

The Staff Software Engineer will partner with Security Engineering, external technology
providers and security vendors. They will evaluate and assess the applicability of various
solutions to determine their capability to mitigate potential security risks.
The role plays a critical function in constantly evolving Peloton’s security automation capabilities
and ensuring the underlying data related to security defects is used to constantly improve the
security of Pelotons products and services.
The ideal candidate is a proven engineering leader that has both exemplary engineering and
communication skills. They have extensive experience collaborating with internal engineering
partners. They are a proven security technology and methodology expert that scales through
enabling other engineering partners to make the right security design decisions and trade-offs.

What You’ll Do
● Be a hands-on leader with focus on delivery of small to large initiatives including guiding
the team to make strategic technical decisions to enable delivery outcomes, set
expectations with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
● Be directly responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our security tooling
integration framework to enable internal partner teams to prioritize and drive remediation
● Lead architecture meetings and technical discussions with the focus of reaching
consensus and best practice solutions

● Lead, coach, and mentor other engineers of diverse backgrounds in an autonomous,
cross-functional team.
● Design, develop and operate business-critical backend systems with a focus on high
availability, low latency and scalability.
● Implement self-service tooling and enhance the developer experience around software
● Deliver high quality outcomes across our engineering organization.

What You’ll Need
● Demonstrated ability and maturity in your software engineering practice, with strong
experience in practices like continuous delivery and automated security testing.
● Ability to work collaboratively with your team and with customers and the ability to
demonstrate empathy for their concerns.
● Experience in designing, building and maintaining security automation and developer
tooling around distributed systems.
● You have a systematic problem-solving approach coupled with effective communication
skills and drive.
