Role Overview is looking for a Senior Threat Detection & Response Engineer to add to our rapidly growing security team. We are seeking a talented Senior Threat Detection & Response Engineer who enjoys the challenges of solving complex security problems and is passionate about threat detection & response, adversary simulation & emulation, security orchestration and automation, and building new technologies to take security to the next level.  

As a Senior Threat Detection & Response Engineer you will have the opportunity to provide threat detection & response thought leadership, execute on core detection & response engineering efforts, and innovate on a broad scale. The team is responsible for developing capabilities to support detection, response and threat intelligence operations across all of


  • Develop, test and deploy high fidelity alerts that are implemented with detection-as-code. 
  • Establish telemetry data across the cloud environment, platforms and technologies. 
  • Deploy and optimize detection and response technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
  • Build integrations and automations for security telemetry and threat detection platforms.
  • Automate and codify detection and response processes and playbooks. 
  • Deploy adversary simulation and emulation capabilities to test detections. 
  • Conduct ad-hoc threat hunts in support of SecOps, detection, automations or tools.
  • Act as an escalation point for security engineers and a resource during incident response.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as DevOps, Software Engineering, etc.
  • Mentor other engineers, analysts, and members of the team. 

Ideal Qualifications

The qualifications below are ideal, but not all are required.  We encourage candidates to apply if they satisfy some, but not all of the qualifications.

  • 7+ years of experience in information security
  • 3+ years experience engineering, implementing, and optimizing detective or preventive security measures
  • 3+ years of direct experience supporting threat detection & response or security operations 
  • Hands on experience with SIEM and centralized logging technologies (e.g. Splunk, Elastic, Snowflake)
  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR)
  • Strong capabilities leveraging scripting languages to automate work or build features (Bash, Python, Go, and/or Ruby)
  • Experience securing cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
  • Experience with configuration automation platforms (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Salt, etc)
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of: Threat Detection & Response in Cloud, Cloud Security, Operating System Security and IAM
  • Bonus: Experience with Information Security Compliance, (SOC, FedRAMP, ISO, etc)
  • Bonus: Industry security certifications, such as OSCP, GCIH/ECIH, or related
