WHY BOX NEEDS YOU 

Box has a world class security organization responsible for protecting our customer and employee data around the globe. We are looking for a Staff Security Engineer to be a part of our Corporate Security team to design and drive our initiatives in an evolving threat landscape. In this role, you will architect, develop, deploy and manage solutions to secure and monitor Box’s corporate assets by partnering closely with the IT organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

As an enterprise security engineer, you will

  • Design, build, deploy and maintain systems and tools to support Box’s corporate security strategy
  • Review and provide security guidance for infrastructure systems, SaaS applications, network access controls, access management and system hardening
  • Perform security reviews, assessment and consulting with stakeholders from Incident response, IT Operations and engineering teams
  • Research and evaluate new solutions for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities
WHO YOU ARE 
  • You are a security professional with
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, information security or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in the cyber security space or similar background
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security principles and best practices related to endpoint security, system security, network security, remote access, identity and access management
  • Deep knowledge or hands-on prior experience of a combination of below:
    • Firewalls/web application firewalls (WAFs), VPNs, endpoint detection and response (EDR), data loss prevention (DLP), anti-virus/malware, intrusion detection and prevention systems(IDS/IPS), identity and access management (IAM/PAM), proxy deployments, CASB, email security solutions
  • Experience working in cloud native and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with log ingestion, analysis and creating rules with SIEMs (Splunk, Elastic, SumoLogic, QRadar etc)
  • Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, Powershell etc)
  • Experience with network security assessments, third party tool integrations and recommending secure configurations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to drive projects to execution with minimal supervision and mentor junior members on the team
