Splunk Data Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for being a technical POC between Agency Engineering staff and Booz Allen Engineering, participating in recurring meetings, and developing relationships with Agency technical staff. Use data management concepts to design and develop solutions and approaches to resolve agency data quality tickets and assist in supporting long term Data Quality strategic goals. Become familiarized with the customer's technical environment and act as a point of contact between the agency and technical resources internal to the program. Coordinate closely, serving as a bridge between customer, Delivery Leads, Solution Architect Leads, and Engineering staff. Apply development skillset to resolve issues, improve operations, and identify commonalities or efficiencies in solutions that can be applied across the client space. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Splunk, including Environment sizing, troubleshooting, and Dashboard Development

  • 1+ years of experience with designing, implementing, configuring, and operating IT systems or security infrastructure 

  • Experience with Ticket management and prioritization with Atlassian JIRA or ServiceNow  

  • Experience with Data Quality management and converting customer requirements to technical requirements    

  • Experience developing and automating metrics and measures associated with Data Quality in a Splunk environment  

  • Experience in an Agile work environment   

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working in large federal agency environments, including NASA, HHS, Treasury, SSA and GSA 

  • Experience testing application design and developing unit testing against developed solutions

  • Experience with one or more Cyber asset management technologies

  • Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems 

  • DHS Suitability  

  • Bachelor's degree in IT Security or Engineering

  • CISSP, Red Hat, ForeScout or Splunk certification

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 110,000 to 130,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
