Mission Cyber Engineer

Key Role:

Leverage domain knowledge to create cyber security solutions for IT and mission systems aligned to client's mission to expand the air and space frontier. Analyze and manage processes to assess and manage cybersecurity risk for NASA. Apply knowledge of cyber threat and cybersecurity solution to develop cybersecurity solutions for IT, mission and industrial control systems. Monitor emerging cyber threats and security solutions for opportunities to reduce attack surfaces of client environments. Work without considerable direction; mentor and may supervise team members. This position is open to temporary remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with assessing cybersecurity posture of IT, mission or industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of NIST standards and risk management framework
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity principles to non enterprise type environments
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree and 5+ years of experience directly related or MS degree and 3+ years of experience directly related
  • DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM II certification required, including GSEC, Security+CE, CISM, or GSLC

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing and using cybersecurity monitoring or scanning tools
  • Experience assessing or securing space systems
  • Experience assessing or securing industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and controls applicable to Government mission systems, space systems or industrial control systems
  • Additional CNDSP or similar certifications desired
